When I am painting, I trying to re-balance myself and through color and form and communion with nature. My work evokes the passion I discovered for ancient Asian folding screens during my Mount Holyoke College years as a Comparative Religion Major, coupled with my appreciation for the natural world. What I hope emerges is a whimsical landscape of my spirit and an invitation to join me there. For me, painting is a form of meditation that calls me back to nature and the deep connection I have to it. The media is mixed, including acrylic and digital photography. You may often see black brush strokes reminiscent of the ink of calligraphy.
